I think this is a great story. It shows that there are still good, honest and innocent folks around. For me, that is reassuring that we all aren't going to *** in a handbasket. Call me a softie.
I agree. This guy is not stupid by any stretch of the imagination, but he tends to be a little goofy. He has a good heart. A really good heart.

I am a little concerned though. There is only 1 chick so far - the one I thought was pipping actually has a calcium deposit that at first glance looked like a pip. But the one that hatched is very sluggish compared to the chicks my others usually hatch out. It doesn't seem to be very good on it's feet - while my other chicks are usually pretty peppy within a couple of hours of hatching. I hope it's ok. It has a good, strong chirp and the legs and feet *look* ok. It kicks when I pick it up, but just seems unable to stand for long. Maybe I'm just a worry wart. I hope it will be ok. If it's not spunkier tomorrow, I will bring it inside in a brooder.
