I don't watch True Blood or Vampire Diaries, they just seem like glorified soap operas, and, well, don't hate me ladies, but I hate soap operas. Even if I am a HUGE horror movie fan, I still can't watch it. Now, I did rad the Twilight books. I picked up the first one, not realizing they were young adult. Thick as that book was, I zipped through it and was on to the second 2 days later before I figured that out, lol. But I did enjoy the characters, even if the books were lacking in some descriptive writing. Not character descriptions so much as the way some things were not explained, and the way some language was used. I finished the entire series and I have to admit, I enjoyed it. Normally I read the likes of Dean Koontz, John Saul, Stephen King, and recently I discovered Kellie Armstrong. Right now I'm reading "The Host" (same author), and even though it's suppose to be written for adults, the writing is the same. A little bland, but it hasn't bored me enough to make me put it down and not pick it up again.
My older DD picked up the Twilight books about 6 months after I finished them, positive that she wouldn't like them, and she was unable to put them down. She not only read them, but turned around and reread them-6 MORE TIMES! They are her favorite books ever. She can tell you every single character, almost every line, and she has her favorites: Alice, Jacob, and Seth. She couldn't take sides however, lol. She liked the movies, but she feels that they could have made it better, and none of us like Robert Pattenson or Kristen Stewart. Both are dull and you don't feel the passion that is suppose to exist between them in those movies like you do in the books. I have to give Myers kudos for her portrayal of their love and passion. I can't say I completely side with my daughter though, cause I side with the werewolves!
