This egg-laying business is just so exciting!!

OK so the first egg that my Maisie laid was definitely exciting but now 3 eggs and 4 days later....this whole process is just soooo much more exciting than picking up a carton from the grocery!!

Today she kept going back in the coop and the others all gathered at the top of the ramp. I could just hear them all saying "Whatcha doin in there!" Well after 2 false starts I started hearing the egg song! It was JUST like you all
described.....bawk, bawk, bawk, baaaawaaaaaakkkkkkk repeated for like 30 minutes. I grab my coat and go running out there. She's sitting on the nest so I quietly shut the door and go back in the house. As soon as I see her out running around I grab my coat again and run out there again only to find a rearranged golf ball and nest. False alarm!! So I finally made myself just ignore the whole situation and after what seemed hours....of being back in the coop then out running around again I head out again and this time find the most perfect little brown egg.

I swear they do that just to get you out there checking for eggs 15 times a day.
