I want to say Thank you to everyone here. I've had chickens for 8 years. We've had chicks die which is ALWAYS heartbreaking. I went to feed them last night and I thought one had passed. I picked her up and she wouldn't open her eyes, was limp but she did chirp to tell me she was alive. I brought her in and kept her close to me to keep her warm. I used a dropper and put a few drops of molasses and water mixture on the side of her beak. I kept trying until she did swallow a few drops. I continued to do this all night. This morning she is eating and drinking on her own. She was so weak....i thought she wouldn't make it. Thank you....because of this forum she is alive!!!

That is great news. You may want to pick up some Poultry Cell or NutriDrench at your feed store. Give her 1 drop daily and then plain water. Those contain electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals along with other nutrients. SaveAChick packets of electrolytes and vitamins are also good. Some chicks get really stressed when they are shipped or have been in a feed store, and some are just stressed from a poor hatch. Hopefully, she will be okay. Good luck. We love pictures of chicks if you can take one.

Thank you. I will definitely pick up some of that. I am so happy this morning!!!!
