This fox is smarter than I am!

We have a fox - I saw it last week. It is coming out in broad daylight and taking my chickens, the last one being Bart, my full-grown Jersey Giant roo!

Now we have 4 traps set and are catching possums nightly but no fox. Any suggestions as to how I might catch the critter?

Have you tried sitting and waiting for it? What time of day did the attacks happen?

If you know that, set a caged chicken in the yard out in the open, then sit and wait with a gun. When he comes out to investigate the chicken, get rid of him.

The first time I saw him was at 8:45 a.m. He came back and got my roo between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m.

You've probably got a female fox with kits somewhere near. The foxes will return till all your chickens are gone.
lock your chickens up in the pen.
