This guy was supposed to be a dark barred rock

We got him as a fertile egg he is barred I think but he is the wrong colour does any one have any ideas on the breed ? He is 24 weeks old.

I am totally new to the chicken world so I have no idea what he is but I was learning about the red and black star hens and was curious what the roosters looked like. Is it possible that he could be one of those? From my understanding the black stars are barred rocks hens crossed with RIR or new hampshire rooster. Anyone correct me here if I am wrong!! He is interesting none the less! I love all the varieties of chickens!

Black sex link males are regular barred birds like a barred rock. Red sex link males are mostly white with a bit of red on the wing bows and often a yellow/cream color to the hackles and saddle.

Thanks matt44644 , Yeh I'm thinking that too,they had barnavelder and wyandotte eggs too. He is a great rooster.

This little guy appears to simply be a mixed bird -- one of the most interesting things about mixed birds is the incredible variety that can develop in color and pattern.
