This has been worrying me for a while... MG & CRD experts needed

I would never put Clorox in drinking water! That is so dangerous!

Although I agree with the thought behind it, sanitized drinking water is very beneficial, but use Oxine AH instead. It's 200x more effective than bleach in killing germs and it's safe to spray around and on your animals. It's even approved in drinking water for organic operations. Much, MUCH safer and effective than chemical bleach.

A wonderful article on Oxine AH:

Chlorine is often used in back country, military and third world situations to sanitize drinking water. Install amounts it's perfectly safe. It turns to gas and dissipates quickly leaving safe, sanitized water.

How do you get rid of it with Baytril? What do you do? If infected give them Baytril? how much and how long? I have 3 in the flock that tested for MG others are seperate. I would like to put together again but if it is safe only. Thank you

You would need to contact your State Vet for the most accurate advice. It's been a while since I talked with mine concerning Baytril.

I'm going on memory here so this may not be completely accurate: again, contact your State Vet; don't trust my memory.

It goes something like:
Baytril for 30 days to cure MG.

All on your place would have to be treated as they may have it without showing signs of the illness.

How long would you treat even those that show no signs? Not sure, but would guess the same length as those that did.

Thank you! I will look into it.

People "shock" there wells by adding bleach, also the city adds bleach to there well system. It is no where as bad as it sounds.
