This incubation is NOT going well!!! Need advice...

Yes,If you have the wafer type thermostat you will get some fluctuation in temp.in between the time it kicks on and off.Mine does the same thing and it is normal for this type of setup.
Just use your midpoint or average temp and it sounds like yours is very close.

Could be the room temp, could be the thermostat going bad, could be the springfield thermometer/hygrometer

I bought one and it worked great. I bought a second one for my second incubator... it was 12 degrees off!!!! I caught it 24 hrs into the incubation because it just didn't seem right... I had incubated enough to kinda know where the thermastat should be set. So I put in a old fashioned thermometer and it was (get ready) 112 F!!!!

Can you believe that I still hatched 85% of the Barnevelder bantams!?!?! The wheaten penedesencas didn't do so well, but I hear they are touchier to hatch anyways.

So, long story short.... keep going, do the best you can. Get a regular thermometer... use two at once. Try not to make great adjustments to the thermostat - you can over do it. It sounds like your temp readings are all ok. Anything within a degree to maybe two - don't touch the thermostat... when you are 3 or more degrees off... then you can make the adjustments.

Good luck!

It doesn't sound as though you have any problems to me. Let the eggs sit till day 14 before you eliminate any and you'll know for sure by then. I've had ups and downs, but I don't think hens are temperature controlled to the point they can keep a perfect temperature either. I just went into lockdown with 7 eggs that look just like the pictures with 18 day air cells.

Try to relax a little and have a little faith.
