Well, I bought her at Tractor Supply Co out of a bin marked "Assorted pullets", all red or black & white. Pretty positive she's a RIR. And she does live with two roosters, the same age, (not RIRs). One puts the moves on her, she ignores him. lol

Here's another pic to show the feet/legs. I can't tell. But, even the stance--tall & lanky--looks like a rooster! LOL!

She's a stumper! Guess I'll have to wait a couple months to see.

I just posted a pic earlier today of a RIR that I bought as a pullet, but then it started looking so much like a roo that I was totally convinced it was, but now looks just like a hen again.

I posted her photo here just to be sure it was a female. I swear she had me thinking she was going to crow up until a week or two ago. Oh, and I only have one RIR, so I didn't just get some mixed up.

Some breeds are just so obvious, but evidently the RIR's are a little harder to tell.

so glad i know which one is a roo. Sorry about you not knowing, I don't think i coluld help here either. Looks like a pullet but back half like a roo.

Just wanted to say, my experience with TSC's "sexed pullets" is NOT good. I have no clue what hatchery mine uses, but out of my 5 "sexed pullets", 3 were male and I am actually having slight doubts about one of my 2 females.

So now, to me, TSC saying "sexed pullets" means "almost 100% cockerels guaranteed". LOL​

I think TSC uses McMurray or Ideal, most people do. I have a feeling it is not the hatchery, but the TSC getting the bins and birds mixed up. I bet half the employees don't know what a "pullet" is. We all have heard about the ignorance of the employees when it comes to chick care, I think it would be the same with keeping the sexed chicks straight. I know you can also get a stray cockerel from another bin, I know the employees of our TSC were carrying chicks around and then would set them in whichever bin was closest, I'm sure customers do the same thing.
