this is gross.....

We have slowly been introducing our dog to the chickens and chicken house .

we have been calling the chickens "the girls" to the dog, which is what we called two girls I use to babysit, she was always gentle with them and she knew what "the girls" meant.
so i hope she sees the connection that our chickens are to be handled gently.

So far shes been really sweet to them even letting them sit on her back!

but as we brought her in we noticed she would sneak bites of the chicken poo! ew!

she gets in big trouble when she is caught and is doing it less and less. she aims to please us in everything she does!

I noticed this summer my dog "cleaning" up after the chickens in my backyard. She knows it's a bad thing to do, as I yell at her when I see her doing it. Joking around we call it "chicken treats".

When we leave her on a weekend day or anything out of our ordinary work/school schedule she will also get into the cat box.

Ours likes the litter box poo best of all. We scolded her for it and it appeared she had stopped, until I caught her in my bedroom with a stash of turds. Apparently, she was hiding them behind the laundry basket and waiting for us to watch t.v. before having a binge. I owe the BF an apology for accusing him of making nasty stinkies in the bedroom.

My labs ROLL in poo - just love it when you go to pet the dog and there is greasy, green goo hanging around her head! ...and yes - kitty krispies are always a dog treat!

This thread is soo funny. When I lived in the burbs with my GSD I got chickens. She never did bother them and she acted as though she thought their poo was disgusting.

But the chickens would follow her around when she did her business like she was a walking buffet. Soo funny. Here is a pic of my baby. She has been gone now 3 years and I miss her like I'd miss my own right hand...
