This was Micro when he still looked like a baby next to one of his same aged siblings.

This is Micro today next to a duck of the size he is supposed to be.

unless your vet is really well versed in duck care and anatomy, I wouldn't worry about him. Most vets know very little abut ducks and they see them as "disposable pets". "So if your duck dies, buy another one" tends to be an average vet's idea about a sick duck. I've heard it from so many people. I now know three ducks that were runty and very small and never really quite caught up with others their size. And all seem to be doing just fine. It may be harder for Ming Ming, but he's getting extra love and care which goes a long way with getting a duck healthy.

BTW Chickensioux, we have the same pool, only mine's in purple... it has a duck in snorkel gear giving out cupcakes right? lol

Thanks for sharing the pics Chickensioux, yes thats exactly the size difference with Ming Ming and his brothers and sisters and yes Nettie i agree that most vets dont see ducks as "real" pets, I will do all i can and have been given some great advice from some lovely people on BYC, fingers crossed........

I took Micro to the vet at the time about when that first pic was taken. She did a fecal and gave me antibiotics and probiotics (without him having an infection). For $125.00 I left without any real info on him or what else to do for him. I got all the info on what to give him (yogurt, vitamins, brewers yeast) from fellow BYCer's.
