You know, sometimes I wonder if the people who steal things think that they are somehow making their lives easier by not having to work and earn money to pay for their own things, You know," just take someone else's." But, it seems like then they would have to spend all their time "working" at looking over their shoulder for the people that they steal from or the law. Hardly seems worth it to me. Being a thief wouldn't be an easy life at all. So, what's the point of it? If they really needed to rake their yard, and ca't afford a rake, why not just ask to borrow your rake?
we had a fishing pole taken right from leaning up against the house, then a year later house got robbed in broad daylight and all the guns, deep sea poles and a ton of other stuff taken, filed a insurance claim and got robbed all over again by the insurance company ( I guess thats what I get for being honest to them about what was taken). also had a pumpkin thrown at my new honda last month and the $100 back light is broke. But for funny things stolen is I had a large cooler bag full of coupons stolen out of my car once. I doubt they looked to see what it was but it was heavy and not worth carrying off if you dont do coupons, besides thousands of them were expired
. Oh we had a 55 gallon fish tank for sale by the road and someone stole it last month also so Im thinking I have this big broken tv that I need to get rid of so if I put a for sale sign on it someone will steal it
My old beat up barely working gas grill was stolen from my back yard. I couldn't believe it cuz it was in bad shape, this was 15 years ago, when scrap was way down!
We got broken in too and all the guns were stloen, and the insurance company gave us a hard time!

Yeah, around here we had "plant thefts" around our town. Somebody stole all of my lovely blue iris, ordered for a price from one of those specialty catalogs. Two weeks later They were surreptitiously kind of "replaced" the replacements bloomed out yucky colours of yellow and brown.
Does that count as one incident or two (I did have to dig out the replacements after all)
I had an aunt once who some how had her boat, yes boat, stolen out of their car port, in the middle of the day, from sitting on blocks, while they were home! Someone was planning that one real well.
Our place looks like trash, so nobody bothers stealing stuff.

There is something to that! I have the worst looking house in the neighborhood because a few years ago the new modulars started rolling in around here. Can't even get trick-or-treaters to make the trip down my dark and scarry driveway.
I never lock my van and always have a key in the ignition...... my mom and sometimes my DH question me... I always tell them... anyone that would steal my piece of rust must need it MUCH more than I do! LOL
