I want to thank everyone.he scoots around in the box.and he seems alert.I gave him some electrolytes.i will keep you all updated.I have him here at work.so I can keep and eye on him.I do need some advice on how often I should give him electrolytes.

just give him a little every hour if he starts acting like he doesn't need it though then i see no reason to keep giving it to him

glad he is doing better

Update on my little guy.he is eating and drinking.but he still can't stand on his legs.he is tucking his feet on top of his wings.I have been reading up on splayed legs. Not sure if this is his problem?

Normally chicks take up to 48 hours to start walking, drinking, eating, etc, it's quite normal and no cause for concern if all they do is sleep during that time. Some are up and about within an hour of hatching, others are slower. For those who had hard times getting hatched, a longer time may be expected as they are quite exhausted.

MySweetChickens provided some useful info there, X2 to that.

About him sleeping with his feet on top of his wings, that sounds strange, can you get a pic of it? How does he end up in that position?

Best wishes.
