hi . so im in israel near jerusalem so we are in the middle of winter (temps outside about 6-11 and at moment, actually raining). cold, but usually dry. we never get much rain here. anyhow, our house is about 19-21 celsius and the room the bator is in is about the same and at night about 17 c).
so we did the same thing. the knob is on 39 and the actual temp is about 37.5
the thing is, we didnt have a clue as to how much water to put in in the beginning so we just poured some in and according to the hygrometer we had 70% humidity the entire hatching.
so this hatch has been a major learning curve.
good to know the amounts you listed above , will use them the next hatch.
we didnt mark the eggs, just rolled the whole group one time in one directiong and second time opposite and third time back again.
now we have hatchings and also still have to turn a whole group so i slide my hand in and roll the one group while leaving the other eggs alone.
at night we also put a folded up sheet around the bator cause it seems to loose its heat when the ambient tempr of the room goes down .
when an egg pipped i marked the area cause often the eggs got rolled around and mixed up/
other then that, it seems fine .
i found the only hygrometer , a cheapy thing, in a hardware store in industrial jerusalem. couldnt find one anywehre else. i suppose in a different town that has more industrial equipment others could be found. or ordered thru a labratory equip. company. hubby doesnt trust the hygrometer so we have a candy thermometer stuck in the vent hole also. found a third thermometer w/ minimum /maximum temp registers - each thermometer has a slightly different temperature so i jsut average them out...
i like the egg cloth in the background btw.
