Addiction. The first step is admitting it.
But 3 to 38? That's impressive!

they came in waves...
went from 3 to 12 to 15 to 19 to 36 lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW.
I told my husband about chicken math, he said no way.
He doesn't want me to got feed store anymore!

I'm right there with ya! Started out wanting 8 hens. Went to the feed store to order because I couldn't possibly use 25 minimum from the hatchery....feed store had to cancel my order because they couldn't get the breeds I wanted. So naturally I got an incubator, ordered eggs and hatched my own! Now I have 28 chicks and 28 more in the incubator!

At least we're all in it together here at BYC!

I think if I could get away with it, we'd have a lot more right now. We are limited with space in the first coop/run (we will be building another for the next batch....Silkies and hopefully Japanese Bantams) and don't want to over-crowd. But....we have a lot of land to build on, so maybe I could add more in the future. You know, for the eggs. Has nothing to do with being addicted...not at all!

oh i know i have a problem. i have wayyyy to many packing peanuts. they are very cute but i know a lot of them will be male.

Susie, I started with 3 little pullets, and one was eaten by a hawk, so then I had to buy FOUR MORE to replace the one......and then I wanted more, just a few more.....now I have 19.....Just got a much larger coop......again, I wish it was larger! LOL

It's a good thing I go to the hatchery and pick up my chicks.....packing peanuts would really throw me for a loop! I have very limited space.....

So I can relate to your feelings...thank goodness my husband likes them too.....
