I said when I got chickens I wasn't going to turn into one of those "crazy chicken people" well it happened and I'm hooked! Recently I got 2 fertile eggs just because my broody girl would NOT break for anything! So today day 11 I candles them and how awesome ! Unfortunately I think one is bad it was more clear and the egg has actually changed shape so I took it away . The other from the charts I have looked at is right where it should be with forming . So in one way I'm bummed in another super excited !

Good luck on your hatch! If you need any help on hatching or integrating or have any questions I am working on my fourth broody hatch and can probably help! Just ask!

How exciting! I remember my first time waiting for a broody hen to hatch chicks. I thought the day would never come! It was an awesome experience. Good Luck!

Best of luck on your hatching the eggs. I can't wait to see the chicks when they hatch out of the eggs. Please take some pictures and share with us all. We would love to see them. What breed will the chicks be?

I originally didn't want to hatch chicks but Sofia (my broody )was bound and determined to show me otherwise. I did EVERYTHING to break her and it just wasn't happening so I'm sure this will be the first if many hatching :)

I cant wait to see the new chick. Blue or Black cooper Marans either one it ends up being. lol I bet it will be one spoiled little chick. Keep us posted on the progress.

wait until all chicks hatch and then to protect them put up something like wire closet shelving in front of the nest box or move them into a dog crate in the garage or somewhere sheltered and warm. Make sure the chicks cannot get out of any holes wherever you decide to put them. So happy for you!!
