Ok, the war continues. I built a feeder similar to the big pink one in the learning pages. Today I put a lip on the front, and a 1/4" dowel out from that about 1/2" straight across the front of it. I drilled a hole in the side pieces. I'll have to get some pictures tomorrow, but we'll have to see if this will work.

The cone kind of helps the feed flowing to the bottom. You could use an upside down, round bottom bowl that would fit in the centre of the feeder, and then pour the feed over top of it. It gravity channels the feed to the openings. An upside down funnel would work, but you would have to tape the spout so feed dosen't end up in the funnel, with no place to go. If you could get one of those smaller orange parking cones, that would work good too. Sometimes they have them at the dollar store. Just make sure the circumfrence of the base of the bowl, cone, or funnel is smaller than the base of the feeder, or it may actually block the feed from free flowing.

Wonder if it would cut down on waste. Don't see how they could scratch anything out.

Although I'd have to put a pan under it.......
