So last week we got 18 inches of snow overnight and throughout the week we now have a total of 24 inches with more coming on Monday. We were without power for 2 days, and others the week with a few still powerless. Of course it picked the time that I decided to start incubating eggs again.. It has taken a week for some roads to even begin to be cleared. Trees were down everywhere, we were lucky the only problem we had was that the netting on our pheasants pens stretched under the weight of all of the snow.

Our driveway all of the trees sagged into the middle of it so we had to knock all of the snow off so they would bounce back up and we could get the driveway cleared.

I know you've got to be somwhat miserable....but it sure is beautiful.
Did you lose your eggs in the incubator when the power died?.... I hope not

We had 84 eggs and only about 15 made it. I was incubating duck and chicken together so the duck eggs were older and made it through except for 5 (One was my first call egg of the year), but all of the chicken eggs died. As soon as the power went out i threw a nice big heavy fleece blanket over the incubators. It's actually not miserable the only bad thing is lugging water to the birds. The snow is so high I can't put all of the waterers in the wagon.

Yipes.
