I ordered 6 crested cream legbar hatching eggs from eBay. The seller had good reviews and posted pictures of his CCLB hens and rooster. And yet.... Here's what hatched. These chicks are now 7 weeks old.

Chick #1 - The only chick that actually LOOKS like a CCLB

Sadly chick #6 was eaten by a giant rat snake a couple of weeks ago. I guess now I know why the CCLB autosexing seemed off.... I'm glad I tagged which ones were autosexing as boys, girls, and unknown. I can easily compare and see how WRONG the autosexing is when they end up being mixed breeds. I'm so annoyed....

lol 'barnyard mix' .. i had that happen trying to order olive eggers .. got one good one out of the batch, but i only paid 20 or so for a dozen, way it goes .. if i had payed 60 or something i would have had an issue ..

I paid $28.50. I'm just annoyed with the dishonesty. People have no integrity anymore....

That is awful! Were you able to contact him about it afterwards? It is just not right that you did not get what you paid for...

No, I haven't contacted him yet. I had already given him a good review based upon his timely shipment and the eggs being packaged decently well. He also included a couple extras which were heavily calcified and also ended up being unfertilized. I don't think I can go back and change my review so he doesn't really have any incentive to make it right.

I think you can report them for item not as described.

I doesn't hurt to try and contact him, even if he doesn't have any incentive to make it right. If he ignores you, he's still a jerk, but if he gives you a refund, than all humanity is not lost.

It is possible he got his eggs messed up and it was an honest mistake. It's still maybe worth it to contact him.

I'm thinking Chick #3 looks like a Copper Maran cross..... Chicks 4 & 5 - maybe a barred rock cross. No idea on Chick #2.

I guess I can reach out and at least ask the seller to clarify what the crosses might be.... All of the eggs were blue. That's the weird part.

Yeah, I’d lean towards a mixup mistake over jumping to him being dishonest. Until you contact him at least.
