I had posted about a chick that I helped out. Seemed to have neurological issues. I have been watching the chicks that Shorty was with to make sure it was nothing else. I was concerned about Avian Encephalitis since it can be transmitted to the egg from the hen. I just noticed tonight that a hatchmate has an issue. It's head has a tremor, more of an up and down. No other birds are exhibiting anything. I am not sure if it's because maybe the same hen laid both and she has a problem or if I should genuinely be concerned. Last option is to cull all of them

. I need to know if anyone has any info on how long it takes to exhibit symptoms of AE? I have chicks from 4 other breeders in there and if one of them starts exhibiting symptoms then I will cull

. Since this is from the same hatch I am hoping it is not contagious and just defective genes

I have 2 chicks that were slow to start(a week younger) and put them in there for company, they have been with him over a week and show no symptoms and they are in a small brooder. Ideas, suggestions, anything appreciated.

Have you tried the Poly Vi Sol vitamins with them? I would surely do that first before just culling. They can have vitamin deficiencies from growing so fast or not getting enough nutrients from their feed etc. I believe it's 3 drops daily for a week then gradually cut back.
I've used it and it works great. I also use VetRX on the ones that are having a bit of a hard start and it helped.

Be sure to get the Poly Vi Sol drops WITHOUT iron though.

HTH, keep us posted!
