It is quite sad to see such things going on. I read the article, and not sure,,,, but maybe the person was quite misinformed as to what he was shooting. He apparently kept shooting more even when the DNR officer was near.

You'd never catch me out shooting birds but I can guarantee you that I wouldn't know the difference unless some nice man came along and told me.

We saw 8 flying overhead today, trust me you'd know it was a swan. It was like a pterodactyl!

They’re wings make a distinct noise too. Not only that but snow geese usually fly in huge flocks! Not a few big ones here and there.
Not the best picture but you can easily see the size difference.

Where are you from? We see huge flicks of snow geese in the winter here and pelicans in the spring.
