Ok here goes will it scare the begebbers out of the girls to mow and weed eat around the coop? If so how do I minimize scaring them?

It doesn't bother mine, so long as the mower discharge isn't pointed at them. However, my flock sees the lawn mower every day when we move the tractor.

If mine are out free ranging when the grass is being cut, they follow right behind it and pick off any dead or injured bugs it turns up ;)

It might help if you start mowing as far away as possible and slowly work your way closer.
Gives them time to get used to the mower.
Good advice........it scares them at first but they get used to it and wait for the discharge to go by to eat up the thrown cuttings.

Mine got really panicky at the beginning but little by little they got used to the mower, now the weed trimmer is another story, I guess because it is louder they still freak out with it, but I might say it is not as bad as it was at first, they seem to be better even though they still don't like it.

Thanks for the advice ours are still inside in the brodder still very green at this.

Everything new will freak them out...even if you've handled them alot and they trust you.....
.
......walk around outside the run with a ladder-FREAK OUT....
..... walk into the run with empty feed bag-FREAK OUT....
My younger group(10-16wks) is freakier than the older ones(1-2yrs)

Just move slow, talk calmly...BE calm...it helps.
