Yes, it definitely looks like a boy, but don't know what kind it is.

Does anyone think this is an EE and silkie mix? I saw a similar one on a different thread. they were different colors though.

By the way he can spread his tail feathers like a peacock or turkey.

The colors definitely suggest EE to me.

He looks like some kind of mix. Check how many toes he has if you think he may have silkie in him, he may have an 'extra' toe, which usually means silkie is somewhere in his blood line. Not sure about EE, but they do come in many colors, so he could be.

I think he's kinda pretty, I would keep him and see what he looks like all grown up. Although, if he just showed up in your yard, I would highly suggest you isolate him to prevent any illness or parasites he may have from infecting your flock.

He sure is pretty. I bet he'll be awesome when he grows up. Are the hens in the pic. Black Stars?

He definitely moved in. He roosts in a tree with my Old Eng. Wheaton it's on a slight rise from the pen.
How many breeds can fan their tail? I didn't know chickens could do that.

The other chickens are Golden Laced Cochin Bantams.

I have 2 India Blue eggs in an incubator and I am praying they are fertile!! [IMG]
