This is the view through my office window more or less. The feral ducks are fond of my yard and have several batches of eggs here yearly, always different moms. I don't feed them or anything, they just like it here. Anyway they're always gold and brown, with a gold belly, and about 90% have gold around the eyes, and the other 10% have a solid brown head. Well this lady here has a solid gold baby following her around. I've probably seen 300 babies out this window over the years, and I don't think I've ever seen one like this. Just a little bit of brown at the end of its tail but solid gold.

They are beautiful

This is Daffy rescued at 1-2 days old last July and him now. [His missing chest feathers were removed by a naught pekin: it looks like they are coming back in as black and white.]

He was a chocolate barred at 16 weeks but his barring has gone from everywhere except his belly and back hidden by his wings. I think your golden fluffy will be a chocolate barred, too

Yeah it's funny watching them change. To be honest they look kinda rough there for a little while :)

I don't get to see them grow up though. A few moms will stick around a few days or keep coming back because I keep them a low bird bath and baby food. (Ok I lied a tiny bit about not feeding them, I do feed the babies but not the adults.) Some of them leave the same day they hatch but this lady seems to like the yard. I think I figured out they really prefer it when I don't mow the grass and let it get kind of high. It's cute watching the pittle puff balls on fresh cut grass but it seems like when I do that they don't like it and leave immediately. These babies are 3 days old and back again today. Well they were, they left again, heh. Makin the rounds.

I’m so thankful we don’t have feral
Muscovy on our part of the river I’d be so worried about predators getting them. That’s actually how I got my first Muscovy he was in our river. Thankfully none since.
