i have heard so many different oppions of thoroughbreds. i was just wondering what people think of them.

i personally LOVE this breed because of their energy and athleticism. i have heard many negative things about them such as (my LEAST favorite thing) "they are no good for anything but racing and wasting money!" i own 2, i board one for my trainer, and i have a friend who is now a national barrel racing champion on horses. here are some pics of them:

this is my off the track thoroughbred, Circus Tricks aka Charlie

here are some pics of my slaughter-rescued thoroughbred, Eclipse (by big boy)

this is my trainer's off the track thoroughbred, Lucky Albert aka Albie

this is Albie with Eclipse (the best of buddies i have ever seen)

the horse in front is my Missouri Fox Trotter, Jerry

these are my friend's thoroughbreds

this is Aviator, her eventing thoroughbred (off the track steeplechaser)

this is her newest barrel thoroughbred (off the track), Bates Reward aka Super Bee

this is her championship winning thoroughbred, Catch Me If U Can aka Pearl

hope you enjoyed. post you opionions of Thoroughbreds, and stories and pics if you own/ride any thorouhgbreds!!

I love Thoroughbreds (love that yours have all that chrome--gorgeous!). I have had 5 off the track. What I like about them is that they load, bathe, longe, tie, stand for the farrier etc. Most that come from the track will have a quirk but it's usually very easy to deal with. I love looking at their bloodlines and finding out facts about their ancestors. Thoroughbreds are extremely versatile and are used as improvement horses for warmblood breeds and have been known to compete at the highest levels of riding.

This is my mare, Cha Cha. She came from Belmont track in NY. She blew her tendon in the front and even though I have ridden her with it, she stumbles on it too much for it to be a safe ride. I would like to maybe in the future breed her to a warmblood stallion. She's got some dirt on her here but oh well...LOL!
