I have a mixed flock, and my poor alpha australorp roo having to deal with those four crazy red headed hens. I was told they're New Hampshire Reds. They are by far my sweetest, friendliest, funniest and most curious hens and I adore each of them for it. But come time to head up to the coop they are always the last hens - then they go in only to hop back out again, repeatedly for as long as they can lol. I was watching them from inside the house tonight as poor Shetan, our roo, kept trying to get them back in. Finally they all were in and I swear I saw Shetan's shoulders relax as he headed for the ramp, only to have another crazy red head jump back out. His expression had me waiting for his wing to come up and slap himself in the head in disgust, instead he yelled at her "BWACK BWACK BWACK!!!" it was hilarious. After I stopped laughing, I headed out to help the poor guy.

When I got in the run, he looked at me for a minute and then promptly jumped up into the coop leaving the looney red heads to me knowing I was capable of getting them in, even if only one by one because I have opposable thumbs to close the door after each one.
