those first little tail feathers

You know those first little tail feathers they get in once they start growing up from fuzzy little things.
Dill still has those on his tail at 7 weeks. Fully feathered, but he still has the first tail feathers and some fuzzy feathers poking out around his body. He's like a partially fuzzy little boy!
Jasmine has looked like a little mallard for about 4 weeks - all her baby fuzz is gone.

Are boys just slow with all the fuzz going away?
