Those Who Breed

I have big house divided on two, who host two main flocks when I do not breed. I keep 2 breeds and breed them every 3 years. I have 4 small houses with run, like the white one pictured. In those houses I separate one cock and 3 - 4 hens. I keep 4 families of each breed.

Most successful way I've done it that I liked the best was all my breeding males year round have their own chain-link dog kennel with a small shelter (medium to large dog crate works great), when it's breeding season I simply add one or two hens depending on what mating I want to do.

That is the idea we are leaning towards too.
