Though YOU had a Predator!?? *GRAPHIC*

Awww, poor kitty, he was a beautiful! My animal lover side tugs seeing this. It's definitely the sadder side of owning livestock for me.

Though I don't blame you at all, Osty. You did the right thing at the right time for the right reasons and I wouldn't have done differently. I'm really glad your flock is alright and you had your gun with you!

I'm glad you're going to get the hide tanned, it'd be such a shame to waste such a beautiful pelt.

Sure is a beautiful animal. But it is good to hear that your flock is safe

I agree... I do love animals, so I won't waste anything from him, but he is a cold killer - thanks for all the responses:)

Good grief that's a bigun!! And that pretty kitty is a serious menace to poultry. They are in season in Ky too right now. This is the first year we have had chickens...hmmm

I am sending you an open invite to come and take care of my cat problem.
I had two beautiful white crested ducks, Dick & Jane, two broad breasted bronz turkeys, Heathclif & Gertrude, plus 18 hens and one roo (chickens). I now have 13 hens. It had to have been a cat. In one night they took the ducks, chickens, and turkey hen. Came back a week later and got Heathclif. grrrrrrrrrr

I'm glad you got him before he wiped you out. I had some trouble with them a few years ago and it took about 8000 volts to keep them away from the chicken run.

About a month ago as I was going out the backdoor I saw one grab a herring from the bank of the neighbors pond. A couple of days later I was In the backyard and saw it grab a Canadian Goose from the same pond. Then about a week later the wife heard a commotion and something moaning at the chicken run. Seem he thought that he was going to get a free chicken dinner when he got a taste of over 10,000 volts. I wish I had been there to see him lying on his back screaming in pain. I haven't seen him since.

Glad you got him. I had one do this to my flock last week:

She killed everything in the coop in one day. She was still in there when we found the mess.

Oh, good job! They are beautiful though. I heard that in Texas we can shoot anything, even protected things, if they are messing with our livestock.
