Thought I was a Duck Daddy...

Got a call from the store I got the little "duckling" from and found out I might have a gosling on my hands?!! WTH???

The coloring and everything pointed to Pekin duckling. I don't know the first thing about goslings! Are there some that look exactly like Pekin ducklings...bright yellow, orange beak and feet??? Just thought I'd pop in the "Geese" section and see! I don't know whether to trust this place now or not! HELP!! LOL

Goslings look quite different from ducklings in their body shape, head shape and the shape of their bills. If you could post a picture there'd be no problem at all in identifying it.

does not look big enough to be gosling in pic. and need pic of face and beak. what are your other ducklings?

I have 1 Cayuga & 1 Rouen...both older. I believe this gosling to be just a few days old. Here's a *bit* of a better picture just taken with my webcam..sorry it's not that great! Had the window open too so that didn't help, lighting wise!

not a duckling sure is gosling. not sure on kind though. could be a few dufferent kinds. did feed store give you any clues as to what kind?

I wish! All I could get out of the cashier when I called was that they had Embdens, Chinese and Africans in.

embden and white chinese are most common i would say it looks like chinese.
africans have black beak and feet. chinese are more bright yellow down and enmden have more smokey gray on top of yellow down

What is the eye color? Embden have blue eyes. It may be very dark blue in the beginning, but you can see it better as they grow.
