I want more, but my space would have to be altered somewhat. I have a small backyard-style coop/run combo that is big enough for three chickens, providing they range in the yard during the day. I have another coop house and a bunch of fencing that I want to add on to it, but that will likely not be until next spring. I could reasonably expand to accommodate 6 or 7 chickens. I also will have to convince my husband that more chickens is a good thing, LOL.

That chicken math though...the 2 birds I got this fall from a supposedly sexed lot (to replace my hen's companion who died suddenly last fall) are looking kinda rooish, especially one that is growing out wattles since 3 weeks. There may well be some juggling as I keep a rooster and find more hens if I have to. They're BO's though so it's probably gonna come down to lay or crow before I know for sure what they are since their feathers aren't telling me anything yet.
