Thanks for the opinions. I was leaning towards Blue, just wasn't sure.
If it is in fact a pullet then that will make 3 Blues. I need to decide which of my Buffs I am keeping, am pretty sure I have at least 2 Cockerels there. Possibly 3, one has a nice comb but wattles are small and no crowing yet. If all 3 are cockerels then I will have 5 hens (2 older) .
Hate to turn this into a genetics thing, but breeding Buffs with Blues, Black and Splashes, is that undesireable?

If I remember right, MissPrissy's red cockerel came from a mating between buffs and blues but I don't know how common that result would be. It's kind of luck of the draw.
BTW, I'm still leaning towards cockerel for your mystery bird. I'd be really interested in finding out how it turns out.
If it's a cockerel it will stay anyway. I would prefer Cockerels and pullets of Blue, Black and Splash. That way I can mix and match....LOL
I have a Splash Hen & Cockerel and Black Hen & Rooster in my Cochins, my initial plan there is to put the splashes with the black for Blues.
I guess I need to get reading up on genetics, to figure out what colors I can get by breeding in the Buffs.
I think MP's Red came from RIR X Buff, which I could do with my RIR Hen and keeping one of my Buff Cockerels.
