Thought she had an impacted crop - bloody poo - Cocci?

Which type of water nipples are you using?? When you have a free moment (ya...right!) can you post a pic of it so we can see it? I only use the horizontal water nipples for that very reason. The vertical ones tend to have a dripping problem, not to mention they'll freeze up in winter months.
They are the red vertical screw in ones from QC. I used PVC pipe and a 5 gallon bucket. You tube rocks! :-) I can't say I've seen the horizontal ones before. I rebuilt it today so it's in the workshop curing. I realized I used caulk instead of silicone, (duh!) but I don't think that was the problem. Could be, but I'm pretty sure the water was coming out through the center. I actually didn't think about the nipples freezing. I'm in Tennessee and with the exception of this previous year, the winters are usually pretty mild, with only a very few true freezing days.

I got the hen house cleaned out and I didn't see any blood. I use small pine shavings on the floor and I'm sure blood would be visible. They are only in the house over night and of course in and out throughout the day for feed and water. They all seem perfectly fine. I can't help but wonder if my "cocoa" ate something that she shouldn't have. I don't think I have any toxic plants, but one never knows I suppose. Regardless, she definitely was not feeling well and I'd much rather treat this as a "confirmed" case for the week then end up in tears over a potentially preventable death.

I was researching poo pics and I saw some pictures with what looked like blood but was actually the intestinal lining and was normal. I saw something about a "float test". Does anyone know what that means?

treating them with the corid wont hurt them, better to be safe than sorry. just dont forget when the medication is done to replenish them with probiotics and lytes wont hurt. i pray you success
