I have been only getting 1-2 eggs for the past week or so. Walking through the woods found 2 guinea eggs on the ground. Look to the left there is a gal sitting on a nest. She has been there all afternoon, but she came to the pin last night. Will see if she gets off to ighr if not then DH can go take her off & I will put the eggs in the incubator. Wish him luck!

She got up! 11 eggs were in the nest. Plus the 2 that had rolled away. I only have 5 girls dont know how old the eggs are. It has been over 100 everyday here. I am sure most are already developing. Will candle when I get a chance & see what I find. Kids are out @ the nest now putting some old eggs in place of the ones we took.

Last night my hen spent the night in the coop. Today she is sitting on those eggs again! Maybe I shouldn't have put the bad eggs there. Guess I could take a few that are scheduled to hatch on monday & put in the nest, but she probally would stop sitting then! Hope she doesn't keep this up long. It is way too hot to be sitting! 105 right now.

She is still sitting. It is day 3. She is coming in mid day & staying in the coop overnight. Honestly imagine she is only sitting 6 hours a day. And she is sitting in the hottest part of the day. Should I just take the eggs out of the nest tonight. Or let her think she has a chance of hatching them?

Gave her 3 eggs out of the incubator. She hatched them & killed them sitting on them. I say not really her fault. It was 112 here. Her instinct was to sit--- to bad her instinct didn't tell her they were warm enough. No need to sit on them!
