For about a week my lyla seemed off but was eating and drinking so I chalked it up to stress (new coop moved twice for building plus predator attack) no one was laying now everyone is seeming to get back to normal except her. I sprayed permetherin 2 days ago for lice (everyone got treated) next morning (yesterday) I noticed she was sitting on her bum.not much balance when she moves...if she moves. While at work I researched on here and thought she was eggbound or laying internally. Around 4 my daughter (actually her chicken) noticed she was shivering laying on her side. So I had her start the treatment for eggbound. Warm epsom water for 20-30. Min. When I arrived home from work around 7 we ran another bath and I thought I felt an egg (I’m new to this so who knows) after the bathe she ate some food and I dipped her beak in water to get her to drink a bit. We mixed some tums (for calcium) with her food and some water to make a mash. She seemed to like the tums. No poop in the time she was inside. I went in later figured we would allow her some quiet and she seemed to be pushing. I had my daughter put Vaseline around and in vent a little and she also swears she felt an egg. (She’s 10) this morning I checked....no egg and she’s just laying tail down head down eyes closed. Then she pooped and I was thankful she moved to a towel as I had her out of the cage...omg it stunk so bad. I don’t have a pic bc it was on a blue towel but it was dark with some white....aside from the smell it looked normal. So first poop since she had been in house in 14 hours. So now I’m wondering if she’s egg bound she can’t poop. Soooooo back to square one. She is the only one who is sick. I had a barred rock that had lost her color a week ago but recovered with some electrolytes in water for everyone. I assumed stress factors was the cause. She seem well perky and chirpy like her old self. Last night my Roos comb was purple so I thought crap they r all sick but this morning it’s red and as we speak he’s waking up the neighborhood. She’s the only “sick” so if she’s eggbound can she poop. If not could she be laying internally? Any thoughts or ideas welcomed. Feeding layer crumbles with free choice oyster shells. I need to add we recently integrated some chicks and found on here to mix the chick feed and layer feed together so now I’m wondering if she has too much protein....back to just layer feed....
