My grandfather had a old coop like that. I have such fond memories of it that we built ours to look similar. Well, ours is painted. The way I see it, before anyone ran electricity out to a coop they used the best design that got the job done, so with that in mind we did the same.

By the time I was about 10 or so all the chickens had abandoned the coop and were nesting all over the farm...used to have such a good time looking for eggs! We used to find them everywhere! Even in the tractors, the combine, up in the hay loft, if there was anything cozy to get into you could bet you were gonna find an egg in it!

It was like an easter egg hunt every weekend!
