I recently had a broody hen setting on 14 eggs that I ordered from a member here. She disappeared on day 20, so I put them in my incubator. It was a warm day, in the 80's and they hadn't been unattenden for more than 3 hours. One was crushed, so 13 made into the incubator. 7 hatched. Of the remaining ones, all but one had a fully formed, but dead, chick in them. I had heard life in at least 4 of the remaining eggs at day 22. I cracked them open on day 25 after hearing and seeing no signs of life. What would cause the deaths of the fully formed chicks? Was it something I did or just one of those things? Thanks!
