Thoughts on Aspen bedding for coop

Looking for bedding options for our coop. We wanted hemp but having a hard time finding it. When we do find it shipping is expensive. We heard someone say they liked the Aspen.

Aspen should be fine, especially if you can get it locally and avoid paying shipping.

Yes we can have it ordered and shipped for free to a local tractor supply. I found a place local to get hemp but they have to order it and will take a week. I want to get setup for the chicks to move out soon.

Aspen is fine as litter but I've only found large flake aspen, so if you were hoping to sift out poop from it, it won't work well. If you're doing deep bedding it should work fine.
