Thoughts on breeding for resistince ?

Hello, Just wondering what all your guys thoughts are when it comes to breeding for resistince In chickens against MG.

Sorry got no experience but what are you getting at? To not breed or to breed or am I totally off the post, I guess I don't under stand, just making sure.:p

Yeah basically breed or not to breed for resistance against these two devastating illness.

Mycoplasma gallisepticum from what I know is the most common strain.

Actually most of the respiratory diseases like MG and bronchitis will have multiple strains in different parts of the country, and can even mutate into a different strain after affecting your flock, so that is why it is so hard to vaccinate. If you don't have birds tested to know which strain of bronchitis your chicken has, you may vaccinate against the wrong one.

The OP didn't ask about vaccinating, they asked about breeding for disease resistance. I assume they asked because they don't want to vaccinate which makes them smarter than average.
