On March 30th we bought 7 chicks from Trator Supply. 4 came out of a group labeled red pullets, 2 were marked bantams and 1 was marked Rhode Island Red/New Hampshire red cross.

when we got them. . . . . .

Here is what they look like today. . .

Red Pullet

one of the bantams . . .

RIR/NHR Cross

the other bantams

The first bantam looks to be a buff-laced Polish, the RIR/NHR cross (probably a Production Red) is a boy, and the second pictured bantam looks like a White Sultan. I'm not sure on the gender of the bantams because of their crests, but if I had to guess, I'd say the Polish is a pullet and the Sultan is a cockerel (basing this on the color of the comb and wattles). Keep in mind, these are only guesses although I am fairly certain the RHR/NHR cross is a cockerel.

Thanks for the input. I was hoping to only have one rooster. They sure are fun to watch - it has been raqiny and cloudy all day - then a few minutes ago the sun came out and they all started to stretch out on the ground almost on top of each other. . . . .
