Thoughts....Open Air Coop

Here is our open air coop/run. Any tweaks? 1/3 is roofed/walled...the other two thirds have hardware cloth on sides and top. There is a 2 foot strip of hardware cloth aproned/skirted on the ground outside of the coop for digger predators and snakes. And of course, a chicken swing that is surprisingly getting lots of use! Any suggestions or considerations? We are in South Texas, so cold will likely never be an issue. They’ve done well with recent heavy rain and stayed dry.

The nesting box lofts from the top any recommendations on latch? It’s sealed off from the chickens right now since they aren’t old enough to lay quite yet, but we need to figure out a secure latch

Looks great. I can't think of what specifically to suggest for the latch, but aim for something that requires two or more steps to open, to foil raccoons.

I love this and am filing it as an idea for some of my future expansion. I think it would make a wonderful grow-out area for use in my warm and steamy NC summers (summers here last from mid-April to late-October).
