I brought my first 3 chicks home 4.5 weeks ago so they are now about 5-weeks old. One Speckled Sussex (brown), one Mottled Java (white and black), and one Olive Egger (black). I'm so in love with them and they are very sweet. No aggression or pecking. All like/tolerate being held and like to sit on my lap/shoulder. I am hoping they are all female :fl I purchased them as female/pullet but I know its never a guarantee. Please look at the pics and tell me what you think! 20210519_181417.jpg 20210525_183019 (1).jpg 20210525_183030.jpg 20210525_185617.jpg 20210519_181637.jpg 20210525_185144.jpg

It is early, but they all look female so far. 😊

Hi chickentrains - Can you tell me why you think the Mottled Java may not be a pullet? I'm brand new to chickens and it'll help me know what to look out for!
Pretty decent comb development... tail feathers sticking straight up as well. Might just be a breed trait though, Don't know the breed well. Is the first and second the same chicken?

There are 2 pictures of each of the 3 birds. First 2 pics are the SS, then 2 pics of MJ, then 2 pics of OE. Were you referring to the Speckled Sussex (brown birdie) or the Mottled Java (white and black birdy)?
