Yes, they most likely are healing from a Mycoplasmic Upper Respiratory infection. The little cockerel is getting ready to crow. So, he must be feeling better.
I had three pullets that I got from a breeder at nearby farm, two and half years ago. The next day I awoke to them sneezing. Within the day, the symptoms progressed to nostril discharge. Next day, chest rattle and wheeze. It way early June, but they didn't recover till September! It took about 4 weeks, and 3 different treatments. But I didn't integrate them into my flock for another 5 weeks. I had to be sure there would be no relapse that could infect my healthy flock.
Here are the three treatments I used:
- First I tried treating Citricidal (Grapefruit Seed Extract), in their water, stopped after 7 days, only slight improvement.
- Then, I took them to my Vet. He put them on oral Enrofloxicin, stopped after 7 days, no improvement.
- Finally, I tried Denagard 12.5%, in their water. By day 3 sneeze was dry, no wheezing. Day 4, just a snuffle! Day 5, No sneeze, snuffle, wheeze, chest rattle or nostril bubbles! Continued recommended treatment protocol of 10 days. They fully recovered and after 2.5 years, have had no further respiratory issues.
Since then, anytime I hear a slight sneeze I use Vet RX, on the nostrils, under the eyes and under each wing.
It seems your little ones have passed the worst of the symptoms if there is no facial swelling, sneezing or nasal discharge. But, as this is contagious, I would continue quarantine till they are 100% and beyond.
Make sure they get some outside time, maybe in the garden or some contained area. Exercise is important for them to get well and adjust. I would take my three out to the vegetable garden 4 times a week to play.
God Bless to you and you little ones!
