Three Barred Rock roosters have died, they don't look hurt or diseased

I did look for mites or any type of bug possibley on the body but didn't see any. Wouldn't the bugs affect all the birds? What is the typical life span of a rooster?

What is the typical life span of a rooster?

There is no typical lifespan. I have had them die at two years old, but I currently have a 4 yr old rooster, a 3 yr old and a 2 yr old and they show no signs of slowing down. I know of roosters much older than mine. Depends on so many factors.

For pests, look around the bum, abdomen and under the wings.

Lice will not stay on a carcass, they search for another warm body. Mites, you will need to check for at night, with a flashlight, they live in the cracks of the chicken house coming out to feed on the chickens at night - look on the roosts and bodies of the chickens for small moving specks.

Thanks, I'll try the Epernix and looking for mites at night. My hens seem to be doing fine but still no egg laying just before the rooster died and not since.
