Well one broody hen raise three different batches of chicks hatched within a weeks time? It will be no more than 12 chicks.

She won't let some chicks starve to death while she sits on eggs if she's a good broody hen.

You will have to take the chicks as they hatch and raise them yourself or take the eggs left and put them in the incubator. Either way you need to get a brooder ready because you will be raising some chicks yourself.

She will either raise the first chicks or the last chicks.
