Three eggs hatched early...should the others hatch early too?

you might over water. I had one hatch i got panicky about the water, and the chicks were all mush, this last batch I cut back on water, and most hatched, some still seemed a bit damp. we will see with the next due 8th much lest water for them and I am checking the air cell.

I kept the humidity at around 45-50% (tried for 50, but it kept dropping down around 45 while I was away at work daily) for the first 18 days, then I tried to go around 70 - 80% for the end, but the highest I could ever get it was 76% and that was shortly after the chicks that did hatch, hatched. It's been more around 60 to 70% these last few days, even with me trying to add more water. I've pretty much given up on the remaining 33 eggs. Frustrating, but I'm pretty sure they would of hatched by now. Tonight when my kids go to bed, I'm going to candle/dispose of them. We went to a local farm store and bought 7 babies chicks because we really didn't want to only have 3 chicks to deal with. I think the next time I try (which will be soon I'm sure, I hate feeling defeated), I will close off all the holes in the bottom, to prevent the leaks that occurred this time. I will add some sponges to the bottom and use those to help with humidity. I will candle more often and I will get eggs from a different breeder this go around. I will try to keep the temp at 99 instead of 100, mine only shows 99 or 100, no 99.5's, just because the others hatched earlier. I Better luck next time I guess :)

Good luck on the hatch! Hope it goes well!

If you only hatched 3 of 36 prob not the incubator. Sounds like the eggs. If your using a styrofoam incubator 50-60% is normal. I can hatch almost every egg I put in my GQF. But I set them within 7 days and I have a rooster to every 4 hens. Sounds like eggs were old. 60-70% humidity is fine.

oh sorry you were talking to someone else
