Three week old silver laced Wyandotte

Looks like normal growth to me for 3 weeks, but I don't do silverlaces. Mine don't usually feather out enough to move outside until 5 to 7 weeks. As for sex, I can usually tell from hatch to 3 days old, after that, I don't bother trying until at least a couple months old when my roos start showing clear differences. Even then there can be uncertainty. Too easy to be wrong in my experience, again no silverlaces in our flock. We only have br, ee, rir, prod reds, and a myriad of hybrids.

Thank you so much.

I'm sorry if we upset you.. Honestly, when I go on forums I can see where you would think that people always try to disappoint you in instantly saying "rooster", but really we are just trying to help. It's better to be honest with you, and give you the answer you deserve, right? By no means do we mean to disappoint you, we are really just trying to help as much as possible. I am very sorry if any of us made you feel like we were purposely trying to upset you. Have a good day! :)

No I think I need to apologize, It was a spur of the moment reaction that I really did not think through. It was an accumulation of frustration with all my problems with getting 2 out of the three chicks as cockerels and the poor guy got the brunt of it. I sincerely apologize once again to him and everyone that was offended. It's regrettable that it had to come from me since I am one of the most enthusiastic of backyard chicken keepers but as an excuse I suppose we all have bad days.

It is all right, I completely understand your frustration, I would be upset as well if I was in that situation. And, yes we all have our good and bad days.

All is forgotten. I appreciate the apology. And want you to know I wasn't in no way trying to disappoint you. Or would I ever try to intentionally make some one feel disappointed. I do always try to give my honest opinions from experiences iv had. But I love these forums and the friendly great nice helpful people. And would never wish or hope someone gets something they don't want.

I appreciate your forgiveness for my ridiculous behavior. We chicken keepers should be reflecting the values of decency and integrity of which has kept this great nation the moral leader of the world and not give in to the current trend of anger and madness of the times. I Certainly dropped the ball on that. Let us agree to leave that kind of behavior to our undeserving sleazy Washington politicians

and conduct this forum with dignity and respect with wich we all should aspire to. Thank you for the understanding.

With the mixed emotions of sadness and relief I gave up my 2 cockerels. The farmer kept his word and even took them one week ahead of schedule but it was harder than I thought it would be. I think the bond that formed with all the TLC given is quite powerful.
