I was carrying one of the ducks out to their run this morning (just after opening the coop) and I feel THUMP on the back of my legs. I look down and a 5 month old EE roo is running away. Crazy bird.
So, I put the duck in the run and walk back to the coop and THUMP on the back of my legs again. This time a 5 month old BCM roo is staring up at me. What the heck? Have they all gone batty?

Hormones they are teenagers now so they think they have to be big and bad, its like teenage boys bumping chest and doing stupid things

He is challenging you and needs to be dealt with before he manages to spur you or someone else.

Next time he does it take a broom and swat him with it. Not so hard as to injure, but knock him down. When he gets up knock him down again then again until he runs from you. Keep him moving. Don't let him stop. Don't let him bow up at you. Keep him moving. Every time you go out there make him get out of your way. Don't ever get out of his way.

He's challenging your place in the pecking order and you need to convince him most clearly that he is beneath you.

....Alan.

Thanks. I'll try that with the BCM. I'm inviting that EE to dinner this weekend, so I won't worry about him too much. lol
