and the examples have hanging haws (eyelids) that are usually entropic or have distichiasis.
Looked to me in that pic like his eyes have issues already, and I absolutely agree with you about the oversized issue... Lord knows its horrific in my breed, American pit bulls, who, having just survived 30 years as a "fad" breed are actually a "rare" breed though shelters are drowing in "pit bulls"... Top weight for a pit bull is 65 pounds, but due to the "bigger is better" folks that jump on just about every fad (remember "Dober-danes"?) they have crossed poorly bred Am Staffs and Dogue de Bourdeaux and everything else in until the younger generation thinks a "pit bull" is blue and 100 pounds, something a "real" pit bull is neither of!
The Chinese are horrible breeders, and typically view animals as "art" or, more accuratly, "bling" like you said. Same thing in Japan. Did you happen to read the book "The Last Dog Man" I think it was, about the guy in Japan that helped save the Akita breed during WWII? In all his years in dogs only one ever came into his house, and that was a show champion and it stayed in a special cage so he could sit and drink tea and LOOK AT IT. There was absolutely no emotional relationship there. Different cultures, different ways, just glad I was raised in a culture which can bond with animals.
I met Bartok at a show. I met one of his sons, I believe, a beautiful dog but he was terrified of my cane. He shied like a horse and almost pulled his handler out of the showgrounds when he saw me coming down the walkway toward him. A dog like that can flat MOVE a man when it wants to! I call myself the "Walking Temperament Test" because when I go to dog shows or shelters some few dogs will react to the cane. I had one GSD bite it!
Congrats on your litter... they are beautiful. It sounds like you are that rare and wonderful thing called a "reputable breeder" who health tests and titles their dogs. Good for you!
