Tibetan Quail

Can anyone tell me if tibetans fly better then the normal color. Strange question but many say they fly bwtt really for dog training

I raised Coturnix quail including tibetan tuxedo like the one in my profile pic for several years.
Tibetans are not feather sexable so the only way to tell is either by the call or looking at the rear end. Males will have a bulbous vent while the female will have a flat vent. This is not a 100% accurate especially when they have just reached sexual maturity. I've gotten a few birds wrong but I was always over 70% accurate.
If you have feather sexable coturnix like pharoahs or golden manachurians I'd suggest practicing identifying these birds by their vent before trying your Tibetans.

This is a website I found with pictures that describes how to vent sex

As far as that goes I would say the source of the birds are more important that if they are pharoahs are tibetan.

James Marie Farms for example, has awesome quality birds but they are pretty calm and not very flighty.

Pharoahs are more likely to be flighty because they are more likely to come from sources who are breeding for production of eggs or meat for example than say tibetans which probably have more focus put on color and quality of the bird overall than just producing a product.

I would lean towards lighter birds because they are more likely to be flighty. For example, I'd probably stay away from Texas A&Ms. If you are are lucky enough to find bantam pharoah coturnix they'd probably be your best bet. I had some and they were the flightiest coturnix I've ever had. Granted though all my other birds came from James Marie Farms the bantams did not. Also unfortunately I far as I know the bantams are extinct but if you can find them they would probably be your best bet as far as coturnix are concerned.
